World-class records are perfectly fitting for the Hansgrohe Group
The performance capability of the Hansgrohe Group is also reflected in the success stories of the athletes and sporting events that it sponsors. In the stadium, on the street or in the water: for more than twenty years now, we have sponsored many different champions.
Christina Obergföll – javelin thrower
The athlete from Offenburg has been German Champion multiple times and became World Champion at the 2013 World Athletics Championships in Moscow. Hansgrohe supported the top athlete in her javelin career and also in her professional commitment to health management. In keeping with the motto “Less is more”, Hansgrohe employees were able to gain first-hand experience from friendly instructor Christina Obergföll in a range of programmes based on getting fit and getting in shape.
Daniel Unger – triathlete
In 2007, the top athlete became the first German to win the World Triathlon Championships and has been sponsored by the Hansgrohe Group since 2008. Born in 1978 in Swabia, Unger's record of sporting achievements notably includes multiple German championship titles and participation at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing. He won the Hansgrohe Triathlon in Offenburg in 2009. From 2012-2014 Daniel Unger organised the Hansgrohe Triathlon in Konstanz for his sponsor, which employees also competed in. The triathlete is also involved in Hansgrohe’s health management programme within the company, which he also feels a connection to thanks to his professional background in the gas fitting and plumbing sector.
Andreas Fath – the long-distance swimming researcher
As part of the Rhine Water project, in 2014 Andreas Fath, who has a doctorate in chemistry and is also a long-distance swimmer, successfully swam the length of the Rhine – from its source to its mouth. During the four-week campaign he took samples from the river, which spans a distance of more than 1,231 km, and worked with the Hochschule Furtwangen University to analyse the water quality. That’s where the former head chemist at Hansgrohe SE teaches in his role as Professor of Physical Chemistry and Analytics, specialising in Environmental Technology.
