Hansgrohe Investigates Climate Protection Potential of Bathrooms

Greentech Festival: Innovative Exhibition Booth with Augmented Reality Application

Schiltach, May 2022. How much climate protection potential is there in an average German bathroom? That's what the initiators of the Hansgrohe Bathroom Study 2022 asked themselves. Hansgrohe will present the results for the first time from June 22 to 24 at the Greentech Festival 2022 in Berlin, the global platform for the exchange of green ideas and technologies. Hansgrohe will be present as an exhibitor (booth C07) and as a jury member of this year's Green Awards. The focus of Hansgrohe’s presence is the on-site bathroom, which vividly presents the results of this year’s bathroom study. With the help of augmented reality, it impressively demonstrates how much climate-damaging CO2 an average bathroom causes during its construction and usage phases - from shower heads to ceramic products, to toilet paper. The data behind the accompanying Hansgrohe bathroom study provides insightful insights and fact-based what-if scenarios for future bathroom design and use: How specifically can the carbon footprint of a bathroom be positively influenced?

Hansgrohe is working hard to support the 1.5-degree target set in Paris - with innovative, water- and energy-saving products, accompanying research and social commitment. Hans Jürgen Kalmbach, CEO of the Hansgrohe Group: "This year's festival motto Together we change fits perfectly with our positioning. With water-saving products, such as AXOR Starck Organic or hansgrohe EcoSmart and energy-saving technologies, such as hansgrohe CoolStart, we are actively contributing to the conservation of resources. At the same time, the festival motto reflects our entrepreneurial attitude: water is life and our passion. We create inspiring moments while protecting this precious element," says Kalmbach.
