Donation Instead of Holiday Gifts

Hansgrohe and Employees Donate 20,000 Euros to Förderverein für krebskranke Kinder e.V. in Freiburg

Schiltach, February 2023. Traditionally, all German-based Hansgrohe employees receive a holiday gift from their employer. They have the choice between numerous gifts or value vouchers. For the first time, in December 2022, the option of foregoing the Hansgrohe gift and donating 50 Euros to the Förderverein für krebskranke Kinder e.V. in Freiburg (Support Association for Children with Cancer) was provided. More than 300 employees made use of this option and, thanks to a generous increase on the part of the company, a total of 20,000 Euros was collected. On behalf of their colleagues, Simone Grieshaber and Stefan Krischak presented the symbolic check to Till Brutzer, board member of the support association, in January 2023. "It's a nice feeling to forego the gift together with many of our colleagues and to help here, where every cent does some good," said Simone Grieshaber and Stefan Krischak, who both accompanied the campaign on behalf of Hansgrohe. The Förderverein für krebskranke Kinder e.V. Freiburg specifically cares for the families affected with cancer. The health system pays for the treatment of the sick children. However, the costs for the accommodation of relatives must be carried privately. Since the presence of the parents during an illness that often lasts months or even years is very important for the care and recovery of the young patients, the support association steps in here. It makes it possible for parents and siblings of seriously ill children to stay in the parents' house right next to the pediatric oncology department of the University Hospital.
