Hansgrohe Donates 900,000 Euros for Ukrainian People

Donations from the Hansgrohe Group and Employees for Ukraine

Schiltach, April 2022. The war in Ukraine is first and foremost a human tragedy and a humanitarian disaster. The faucet and shower manufacturer Hansgrohe and its employees have therefore collected donations for the people in Ukraine: In the end, 900,000 Euros were available to support the people affected. Employees contributed around half of the money through donated working hours and vacation days; the other half was then added by the Black Forest-based company. The use of these funds was carefully reviewed by the company. The majority of the money is going to large aid organizations, whose structures also enable them to provide direct help to those affected on the ground. Hansgrohe CEO Hans Juergen Kalmbach says: "We are pleased that we can help people with our funds. At the same time, our Executive Board is proud of the solidarity that Hansgrohe employees have shown with their donations and says thank you."

Diverse Support

'Business as usual' no longer exists for the Hansgrohe Group and its employees around the world since February 24. "We at Hansgrohe condemn the actions of the Russian president, which are contrary to international law. Our sympathy goes out to all the people who are experiencing a great deal of suffering because of the current situation," said Hansgrohe CEO, Hans Juergen Kalmbach. "We are examining day by day anew how we can help the people in the war zone." In solidarity with Ukraine, the company has suspended all activities with Russia until further notice. No further products will be delivered to Russia for the time being and no new orders will be accepted. Even before the monetary support, Hansgrohe and its workforce provided humanitarian aid. Among other things, Hansgrohe Poland provided medicines and relief supplies for the war zone. From the Headquarters in Schiltach, Hansgrohe colleagues also repeatedly took collected aid supplies to the Polish-Ukrainian border in several vehicles.
